My Dreams
Everyone have a dreams. People dreams about
their future. I have dreams for the future just like everyone else. When I was
kid my teacher and my parents told me to dream big. I have a lot of dreams. “Do
you have dream in the future ? What are they ?” If you ask me this question
when I was kid, I would said “ I want to be a doctor, a teacher, an army, an
astronot and other interesting dreams. About nine years ago my dreams was to be
a doctor because I want to help people around me. I want to serve them and take
care of them and I can help poor people that do not receive any medical care. I
want to give a medical care to helpless people. But when I studied at
senior high school I’d rather have study about Social Science than Natural
Science.
I have grown up, now I know what I want to be.
I want to work in one of the big companies especialy BUMN company, I want to be
an accountant. After I work about 5 years I will quit my job and start a
bussines property and a minimarket. Than I want my life will colourful and
beatific. I think life not only to work hard, but we also must know how to
enjoy your life. Enjoy your life doesn’t waste much money, we should use many
to do some signivicative things. I can contribute my money to help the poor and
homeless people. I can travel around Indonesia with all my big family. I
want to buy everything to my parents, and I will give my money that I have to
my parents. I will live in a big house with a garden and a pool inside
my yard. Finally, I want to take my family to Makkah for ‘umroh’ or ‘haji’.
College is my first step to achive my dream.
Curently I am a student at Semarang State University. I almost finish my study
to get a college degree as economic degree. I do my best to keep my grades up.
I have big plans for my future. I plan to make something of my self and not to
give up. I will try my best to do my dream in the future, if I have a problem
with my study I will keep on dreaming to overcome the problem and keep beliving
I will have a good life in the future.

Who is he?
Chairul Tanjung (people usually called him CT) is one of the
successful businessman in Indonesia. He was born on June, 16th 1962. He
obtained a bachelor’s degree at the Faculty of Dentistry in University of
Indonesia.
He is the former of Coordinating Minister for Economic in
the Indonesia cabinet. He was appointed to this position by President Susilo
Bambang Yudhoyono, on 19 May 2014, after the resignation of the previous
Coordinating Minister for Economics, Hatta Rajasa, who resigned because he want
to be one of the candidate in Indonesia’s presidential election 2014.
Chairul Tanjung had begun his business when he was still in
collage at the Faculty of Dentistry. He has passion to found his business
become the successful business and finally his dream come true.
In January 2015, Chairul Tanjung had an estimated wprth
about $4.3 billion. He is the chairman and the founder of CT Corp (Indonesia).
He bought Karman Bank and changed its name to Mega Bank. He expanded his
business interests into insurance and securities. Now, Chairul Tanjung is
involved in the business about television channels; he founds Trans TV and make
a group of business named Trans Corp. He has property project such as Bandung
Super Mall, Batam Indah Prospertindo, Para Bali Propertindo, and Mega Indah
Propertindo. In 2012, he bought a minority share of Garuda Indonesia and share
of Carrefour.
How you know this person?
We know Chairul Tanjung for the first time from his book
“Chairul Tanjung Si Anak Singkong”. This book is a biography book of Chairul
Tanjung that tells his life story. Although nowadays Chairul Tanjung is a
success businessman with many of business that he had, just a few of us who know the past life of him. The book had
written by a Kompas Journalist, Tjahja Gunawan. The book begins with the story
of a young Chairul who had to fight in the middle of the current economic
limitation. With his and his family effort, finally he could pass that hard
situation and continue his education. Because for his parents, education is the
first priority. In this book, Chairul Tanjung expresses much feelings about his
mother. He also expresses their views on economic issues and his activities as
an entrepreneur.
How he become successful?
Chairul Tanjung had begun his business when he was still in
college. To finance his studies, Chairul Tanjung opened copier business
at his university (University of Indonesia). He also had to sell T-shirt and
books. Meanwhile he founded a medical supply store and laboratory, but his
efforts was not successful.
Chairul started
his business when he graduated from college. He built PT Pariati Shindutama in
1987 with his three friends and with first capital Rp 150 million, which he
obtained from Exim Bank. They were producing children’s shoes. But because of
the differences in terms of expansion the business enterprise must be disbanded
and Chairul leave this companies and choose to create their own company.
After that, Chairul targeting three core businesses, they
are finance, property and multimedia. He is the founder of CT Corp, Trans TV,
Trans 7, Mega Bank, Bandung Supermall, etc.
In 2010, Forbes released a list of the richest people in the
world and there is Chairul Tanjung as one of the richest people from Indonesia.
In 2011, Forbes re-write CT’s name in the 11 th richest man in Indonesia with
his fortune up to 2.1 billion dollars.
Why you consider him as a successful business?
We like him because
“as the young generation that will do business, Chairul advices us that young
people must wait and do step by step to make their own business, it because
build a business not as simple as turning your hand, we must takes
patience, have a lot of strength and never give up. Don’t ever think
that a success business is gained instantly, but keep patient and never give up
is a must in business. It is very humane if someone in trying eager to get the
results, but not all of the result can be received directly.

Merry Riana is one of the entrepreneur and young motivator
who comes from Indonesia. She was born on Jakarta, 29 May 1980. She was
born and grown up in simple family. Her parents are businessman and housewives.
She is the first child of three brothers. Merry’s journey in Singapore started
when riots in Jakarta in 1998. The dream
for lecture in the Departement of Electrical Engineering, University of
Trisakti was dispersed because the incident. And then, she decided for lecture
in Singapore to avoid something that she didn’t want. Her father decided for sent her daughter to
study in overseas. At that time, Singapore is the best choice because it is
relative close, safe environment and good education system.
Merry Riana started her study in department of Electrical
and Engineering (EEE) in Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in 1998.
Without good prepare for study in overseas, Merry was failed in the test of
English in Nanyang Technology University. Without prepare much money too, she
borrowed some money from government of Singapore. She borrowed money from the
Bank of Singapore Government scholarship of $ 40,000 and must be repaid after she
graduated from college. These funds are minimal, because after she counted, she
only has $ 10 for a week. It made her to seek a job and get some income.
Without good experience and knowledge about business, Merry
was plunged into the world of business. She did that because she knew
that has a general work is not enough to fulfill of her dream to success at the
age of 30 years old. She tried many of business chance. However, some business
opportunities that she did, she failed and loss of up to several thousand
dollars. But she still rose from her ground up.
Until she was successful as Financial Consultant who sold
financial and banking products such as insurance, credit card, deposit, saving,
etc. In the first six months of her career in Prudential, she can repay her
debts in the amount of 40.000 dollars Singapore. Until 2003, Merry was awarded
Top New Advisor Award which coveted many people who pursue the profession of
financial advisor. In 2004, Merry brilliant achievements made her was promoted
as manager. And then, she started her own business after appointed as manager.
She built MRO (Merry Riana Organizational). Together with her team in the MRO,
Merry has the empowerment of women and young children. The members of her
team in this institution even relatively still young, aged 20-30 years.
Her desire to sharing not only did in Singapore. On the 30th
her birthday, Merry make a new resolution, it is gave a positive impact on one
million people in Asia, especially in her native land, Indonesia. In
2005, Merry received the award as the Top Agency of the Year and the Top Rookie
Agency. Until now, Merry has motivated and trained thousands of professionals
and executives in the fields of sales, motivation and marketing. In his company,
Merry shade 40 financial advisors, which is unique to have a young age (between
21- 30 years) .
Merry Riana published a book entitled A Gift from a Friend
in 2006 which contains the experience and background of her life in Singapore.
This book draw public attention Singapore and Southeast Asia due to write about
her achievements generate S $ 1 million at the age of 26 years. Profile success
Merry Riana became known after appearing in The Straits Times article on
January 26, 2007, entitled "She's made her first million at just age 26”
