“Bill Gates the Successful Businessman”
William Henry Gates III who we know as Bill Gates is a
successful businessman that we know. Bill Gates was born on October 28, 1955 in
Seattle, Washington, the son of William H. Gates and Mary Maxwell Gates. His father was a prominent lawyer and
his mother served on the board of directors for First Interstate Bank System and the United Way. As founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates is one of the most influential and the
richest people on the world. Based on the last estimation, his wealth is about
$56 billion.
We have known Gates since we were
in Junior High School from our teacher. We were interested to know him more, so
we searched him on internet. There were many inspirations that we got from the
story of his life, especially how he became the richest and the successful
businessman.
Here are some stories about Bill
Gates.
When he was child, he liked reading
and he was smart boy. He
had finished reading the World Book Encyclopedia of the series. Since Gates was 11 years old, he had asked
his dad about business topics actively. When Gates was 13 years old, he studied
at an exclusive school, Lakeside School. He was known as a very clever student
there. Then, he formed a venture with Allen,Traff-O-Data that
focused on the traffic counters system based on the Intel 8008 processor when he was 17 years old.
Gates graduated from Lakeside School in 1973. He scored 1590 out of 1600 on the SAT and enrolled at Harvard University in the autumn of 1973. When he was studying at Harvard, Gates did not have
a definite study plan and spent a lot of time using the school's computers. Gates
still had communication with Paul Allen, and he joined him at Honeywell during the
summer of 1974.
In 1975, Gates and Allen considered the launching of
the MITS Altair 8800 based on the Intel 8080 CPU
as the opportunity to start their own computer software company, Microsoft
Corporation. Finally, after founded Microsoft, Bill Gates decided to drop out
of Harvard University. After that, he focused
on developing Microsoft. By his effort and hard work, brilliant mind, and his
tenacity, Microsoft Corporation became a success and Bill Gates become a
millionaire. He is often named as the richest man in the world.
Gates announced that from 2008 he
would work full time on his philanthropic interests. He chose to focus on humanity affair at the Bill
& Melinda Gates Foundation (that was built in 2000). Until 2007, the total contribution
that was made by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has reached USD 28
billion.
We consider
Bill Gates as successful business person because he could make Microsoft to
become the world’s largest PC software company. Gates also has been given
many awards, such as in 1987 he
was listed in Forbes magazine as the Richest People in
American; in 2010 Gates received the Bower Award for Business Leadership from The Franklin Institute for his achievements at Microsoft and
his philanthropic work; in 2015 the Government of India
awarded The Padma Bhushan , for Gates and his wife Melinda for their contribution
in Social work; etc. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Gates was
the world's highest-earning billionaire in 2013. In January 2014, most of his
assets were invested in Cascade Investment LLC, an entity where he owns stakes
in numerous businesses, including Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, and Corbis
Corp. Those are only some samples of his achievement. How a successful person,
right?
And do you know what we think after we read the
biography of Bill Gates? We think you will agree with us if we say that we want
to be a successful person like Bill Gates. So, we must study hard, try to found
a business step by step, keep self-confident and don’t give up in reaching our
dreams.

BalasHapusI would like to comment your post. In paragraph 6, there is a mistake in this sentence "Microsoft Corporation became a success and Bill Gates become a millionaire." You should use verb (2) became in this sentence "...Bill Gates become a millionaire."
That's enough from me, thank you :)
Thank you Ratri.
